Continuing Training Programmes for Trade Union Officials
Aim
The aim of this Scheme is to support the participation of Trade Union Officials in training programmes delivered by Trade Union Training Centres (TUTCs), that have been certified by the Human Resource Development Authority (HRDA) as Vocational Training Centres (VTCs).
Basic Provisions
- Beneficiaries of the subsidy include all Unions, Guilds, and Organisations affiliated with Trade Union Organisations of Employees (TUOEs), with the exception of TUTCs delivering training programmes for TUOEs of government employees and for self-employed individuals.
- Participation in the programmes is arranged following consultation between the relevant TUOEs and the TUTCs.
- Upon successful completion of the programme, the TUTC submits a subsidy application to the HRDA.
Financial Coverage
A subsidy is provided to the TUTC to cover expenses incurred in organizing and delivering the programme. The amount of the subsidy is calculated based on the number of participants who have successfully completed the programme (as defined by the Scheme), the hourly subsidy per participant, and the duration of the programme.
Cooperation
For each TUTC that cooperating with the HRDA in the implementation of Continuing Training Programmes for Trade Union Officials, a designated Officer in the Training Services Directorate is available to provide information and technical support throughout the process.
To ensure transparency on the submission of an application, the HRDA issues a Policy and Procedures Guide, which sets out the operating framework for the Continuing Training Programmes for Trade Union Officials.
Logos and Accompanying Text for Approved Specifications and Programmes of Trade Union Officials
Upon approval of its programme specifications (Stage 1), a TUTC must include the appropriate HRDA logo along with a specific accompanying text in all informational and promotional materials, as well as in advertisements or online announcements for candidate recruitment. The accompanying text should be tailored according to: The language used (Greek or English), the number of approved specifications (singular or plural), and whether the material is in colour or black and white. If the promotional material includes programmes not subsidized by the HRDA, a clear distinction must be made using the designated version of the HRDA logo and text, with an asterisk indicating this.
Upon approval of its training programme applications (Stage 2), the TUTC must follow the same procedure but with the designated HRDA logo and accompanying text specific to Stage 2.
The HRDA logo and accompanying text must be positioned at the bottom of the first page (occupying 1/10 of the total height of the page/cover) of all informational, promotional, and advertisement materials in both print and digital formats.
